I am painter born in Clapham, currently living and working in South London. My work is concerned with abstract space, reflecting a period of time, often embodying the working through of sensations over many months. It is difficult to pin down exactly what the paintings represent, as each are the depiction of a sequence or change of feeling. They discuss colour relationships, and how this creates a mood and complexity of feeling. The edges of the raw canvas are soft and organic, they create lumps and bumps under each layer, showing the history of the painting. The works are sculptural, creating physical depth and layers by both adding and cutting back into the works. Through the act of adding and taking away layers, the paintings mature and become a physical embodiment of my own development.
